The Not So Secret Secrets of Success

Have you ever heard of the "secrets of success"? Many times people are trying to sell you these "secrets" for a very high price! Well, in my five years of Internet marketing experience, I haven't learned any "secrets". These so-called "secrets" are mostly common sense and hard work. We all know these "secrets". We just have to apply them and use them consistently.
"Secret" #1 - People Dealing with people can be hard, but we all know we must be courteous and professional. You need to accept the fact that you cannot please everybody. When you come across one of these people you cannot please no matter what you do, just deal with them firmly, but courteously and professionally. Not a "secret"! MOE Motto -Treat people as you would like to be treated!"
Secret" #2 - PassionWe all know that we need to like we do in order to be really successful at it. If you are interested in pets do not start a business dealing with cars! ;-) Building an online business will take a lot of passion to get through the frustration, obstacles, and other difficulties. There will be many times when we will need our passion to get us through! Not a "secret"!
"Secret" #3 - Customer ServiceAnother "secret" is to treat the customer with respect and courtesy. It will not be easy to deal with difficult customers this way, but it can be done. I have worn down some of the nastiest customers by a continuing campaign of courtesy, politeness and professionalism! Each time I dealt with this one lady, she was less and less rude and upset and more relaxed and easy to deal with. Eventually, she was thanking me and praising me for being so helpful and nice. Don't be condescending and don't let yourself get upset. Remain calm, yet be firm and respectful. Not a "secret"! "
Secret #4 - PromotionTo build a business, people must know that you and your business exist. Advertising, promotion and networking are how this is done. Set up a promotion schedule and stick with it. Be consistent. This may get tedious at times, but it must be done! Write and submit articles, publish an ezine, get listed all over the web, do link exchanges, swap ezine ads, compile a fr~e ebook for viral marketing, subscribe to announcement lists, visit message boards, get involved in discussion groups...... ..there are hundreds of ways of promoting yourself and your online business! Not a "secret"! "
Secret" #5 - Hard WorkDespite what many people have said, it is not easy to "get rich overnight" and "making thousands a week, while doing nothing" just doesn't happen. To be successful you will need to work and work hard. This is where passion for your work comes in! Not a "secret"!
"Secret" #6 - CommitmentExpanding on the hard work "secret", you will need to make a commitment to success. You must be willing to make sacrifices and work long hours. This will not happen overnight... .it could take years. Are you prepared for years of frustration, hard work, ups and downs, dealing with people (good and bad), rejections, and everything else that comes along with building a business? Not a "secret"!
"Secret" #7 - PrideTake pride in your work. Your work and your business will be a reflection of you. Build your reputation for a solid foundation of success. Be true to yourself and your business. Not a "secret"!
"Secret" #8 - GoalsBe aware of what you want and how you want to get it. Do not go blindly into business without some planning of your goals and accomplishments. Use short term smaller goals to eventually reach your long term ultimate goal of success. Not a "secret"! So we know in order to start and build a business, we must plan our goals, be prepared for the work and commitment of building that business, and that we must build a reputation of trust and professionalism.I know we all knew that. It just helps to be reminded once in awhile! ;-)About

Inspiration-RESOLUTIONS

Quit Those Bad Habits

Do we really need to name them again? Okay just one last time: smoking, drinking, reckless driving, junk food, junk TV, these are all bad for your health. Over time these habits can mercilessly dent you health and shorten your life. Now you can't say you have not been warned. Quitting means improving your health right away.

Exercise

Remember the old saying… use it or lose it. Its healthy to raise your pulse, get your blood moving and flushing those sweat glands. Make it a daily routine. Alternatively, a 20-minute low impact workout three to four times a week can do wonders for your heart, circulatory system, digestion and even mental clarity.
Sprinkle your day with spurts of activity. Use the stairs. Walk briskly. Run on the spot as you watch television. Do not overdo it. When it comes to exercise, take it easy but take it .

Enjoy Life

Remember, all work and no play, makes Jack a dull boy. It may even make him a sick boy. Is there enough laughter in your life? Laughter is a good medicine. It is also a great stress buster and a mind liberator. If you have gotten bored, dull and predictable, buck the trend. Hang out with the kids. Be silly and spontaneous. Play a game without keeping score. Learn a new skill. Play an instrument. Learn to express yourself artistically. Use recreation to "recreate" yourself.

Eat Natural and raw
Organic is best. Modern foods have been altered to justify commercial interests. The challenges of the farming industry: How can plant produce be kept longer? How can they be ripened slowly on the shelf after early plucking? How can they look good so that the customer would be tempted to buy?
Most of the time, your food is a frightening cocktail of chemicals. Organically grown foods are best for our bodies, families and the environment. Let's resolve to support farmers and merchants who support the earth.

Take your vitamins
In the long run, using a proper vitamin/mineral supplement is like a health insurance, only better. You will feel good physically. More importantly, it will give you peace of mind. You are worth it. Strive to take wholesome natural vitamins.

Cut Sugar
We are sugar addicts. We take too much refined sugar. It is bad for us. The human species is suffering from obesity in unprecedented proportions. We are more obese that any other animal. Hence, diabetes and heart disease are rising at alarming levels.

Cut Salt
Salt is an acquired taste. It is really bad news. There is an alarming increase in high blood pressure in the population. Cutting salt is the simplest way to keep hypertension in check.

Eat a balanced diet
Make sure you get your daily fill of high quality protein like fish, eggs, yoghurt, cheese and soy. Of the three main food groups, proteins are the most vital. Cut the refined starches. Make sure you get good quality fat.

Learn
Our tenure on this earth is precious. Use it well or lose it. When we stop learning we start dying. Don't kill time, fill it by reading, listening, discussing, creating, producing and contributing something worthwhile.

Set goals
We are basically goal-seeking organisms. We are motivated and inspired by goals. In his book, Slaying The Dragon, Michael Johnson tells how goal setting took him from the devastating loss in Barcelona in 1992 to two unbeatable golds and an amazing record breaking performance in Atlanta in 1996. If itt can work for Michael, it certainly can for you.

For your health, set goals- what is your ideal weight, how much do you want to work out, when do you want to quit smoking etc. Making and meeting commitments can be fun, motivating and exciting. The beauty about goal setting is that it will creep into other areas of your life. Soon, things improve all round.

Plan and Review
Take time to plan your life. Spend an hour every Sunday. Planning the week ahead. Spend 15 minutes every morning planning each day. This will make your life less stressful as you will put "first things first" in and around your life.

Fast once a month
Take a juice fast for 24 hours once a month. This puts the system in low gear, detoxifies it, conserves energy and restores the hormonal balance. It also helps you appreciate your food more.

Meditate
Meditation is refreshingly different from any other human activity. It fosters calmness, insight, energy, inspiration and creativity.

The health benefits are enormous. Minding the mind it seems also mends the body. It is simple and absolutely free. It is also relatively easy to learn. The investment of time is also minimal, about 20 minutes per day.

Think positively
Attitude is everything. Keep your chin up. Smile. Loosen up. Deliberately choose an optimistic outlook. People who are positive have better chances of winning battles against serious illness. It really seems that the mind is master over matter. If that's the case, you would do well to mind your thoughts.

Take care of mother earth
We have been taking her for granted for too long. It is no surprise that she is not well. Still, it is not too late. There is much that can be done still. Each of us can play a role protecting and preserving the environment. We need to create a sustainable future for ourselves and all the generations that follow. When it comes to it, it is still about the 3Rs - reduce, reuse and recycle.

Commune with the spirit
Whether it is in Nature, in halls of worship or on your meditation cushion, take time to relate to your should on a deeper level. Who are you? Why are you here? What is your mission? Call it God, Creator or the Universe, see yourself in the greater scheme of things, What is good for the soul is good for the body, your family, the community and the world, Be at peace with yourself.

Help someone
Service also heals the should and spirit. The sacrifice comes from "scared fired". Visit an old folks home. Try volunteering for hospice work. Join the Red Cross or a service organisation.

Or just remember a neighbour in need. You will both benefit. Be ready to connect. Make eye contact. "Smile" with your eyes. Spread cheer. Be an instrument of love.

Here is a good inspiration.
SOFTWARE ENGINEER's STUPIDITY
There was a software engineer, who used to develop programs on his Pentium machine, sitting under a tree on the banks of a river GANGA. He used to earn his bread by selling those programs in the Sunday market. One day, while he was working, his machine tumbled off the table and fell in the river.
Encouraged by his childhood story of the lumberjack and axe, he started praying for the river Goddess. River Goddess wanted to test him and so appeared only after one month of rigorous prayers. The engineer told her that he lost his computer in the river.
As usual, the Goddess wanted to test his honesty. She picked up a match box and asked "Is this your computer?".
Disappointed by the Goddess' lack of computer awareness, "No" replied the engineer. Then she picked up a pocket sized calculator and asked if that was it.
Annoyed by this, the engineer said "No, not at all" and also thought of educating the Goddess about computers. Then she picked up his Pentium and asked if it was his. The engineer, left with no option, sighed and said "Yes!" and took his machine.
The Goddess was happy for his honesty and was about to give the previous objects also to him. But even before she could make the offer, the software engineer in a boasting tone asked the Goddess," Don't you know that you should show me some better computers, before bringing up my own?"
Goddess, apparently angered at this, replied, "I know that, you stupid donkey! The first two things I showed you were Millennium and Trillennium, the latest computers from IBM" and disappeared. The Pentium followed her.
Moral: If you don't know much, better keep quiet.
Conclusion: Hardware develops faster than a software engineer and
God knows it. Cheers

Inspiration-for leaders!!

Acknowledgement: Magazine-- "Technology and Learning".

Ten tips for leaders:

1. Practice acting with intention. Prepare for important meetings by asking yourself "what is my intention for this meeting"?Begin your meeting by stating your intentions and desired outcomes.

2. Practice grounding yourself by stating in one sentence the technology vision and in a second sentence how that vision aligns with yourpersonal beliefs and values.

3. Practice surfacing your own beliefs by listening to the belief statements of others. Provide as many written responses as possible.

4. Practice connecting with others by giving your full attention to the speaker Any time your mind wanders regain your focus. Anything that distracts you from listening including taking notes should be set aside.

5. Practice your listening skills by observing what is not being verbalised. When you oserve that some one or a whole team is in a closed negative or angry mood do not try to deliver a message. They will not be open to listening if you sent the message to be heard, surface the mood and shift it to one of openness. "It seems
like something is bothering you. What is it?" Mood first, content second.

6. Practice speaking with authenticity a prerequisite for inspiring others, by taking time before important presentations or meetings to centre yourself around your vision, values and beliefs as well as those of your audience. Remind yourself that a leader comes from the heart not just the head. Then speaking check to ensure that you connect to the concerns of your audience first. Once you have connected with them they will be more open to your point of view.

7.Practice connecting to the needs of your key constituents by making a list of what you think they value and prioritizing what you think is most important to them.

8. Practice maintaining integrity in your vision, values and beliefs by periodically doing a self-audit. Find a partner or coach you can trust who will give you feed back in this regard. If professional development is a top priority work with teachers to find out other areas to cut when budgets must be slashed.

9. Practice courage by asking that some requests be put in writing. Train your staff to plan ahead with requests for new projects by setting a policy that requires a written rationale for the project as well as an evaluation of the return on investment that can be expected.

10,Practice courage by negotiating time frames and conditions for satisfaction for completion of tasks.
When a project is completed in the time frame requested and the conditions of satisfaction are achieved as agreed, there should be a recognition of completion. It can be a simple question "are you satisfied?" that elicits a response "yes.I am,thank you " or it can be a small celebration of a job well done before moving
on to the next project.

INspiration-relationships!!!!!

I've been following this and felt I should share it wth all of u.To the special people in my life. I am sending this toyou to see how many of you actually read my email. Your response will be interesting!
Pay close attention to what you read. After you havefinished reading it, you will know the reason it was sent to you!
Here it goes:

A Reason, A Season, A Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which it is, you know exactly what to do.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed outwardly or inwardly. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong -doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up or out and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled; their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and it is now time to move on.
When people come into your life for a SEASON, it is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They may bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; those things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person/people (anyway); and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being a part of my life.

Inspiration-love thy neibour.......

Good day....

Today before you think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who cant speak
Before you complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat
Before you complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion
Today before you complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven
Before you complain about your children
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren
Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep
Think of the people who are living in the streets
Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet
and when you are tired and complain about your job
Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they hadyour job
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another
Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to onemaker
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're aliveand still around
Life is a gift
Live it...
Enjoy it...
Celebrate it...
And fulfill it.
And while you are at it give love to someone today
Love someone with what you do and the words you say
Love is not meant to be kept locked inside of us andhidden So give it away
"Give Love to someone today!"

Inspiration-the eighteen-ities!!!!!

1. SERENITY Be tranquil within. Let that inner peace and joy radiate through a serene countenance. A serene countenance is peaceful, smiling and serious and does not betray any violent emotions. It is like the surface of a still lake.
2. REGULARITYBe regular in your daily habits, and in your work and spiritual practices. Get up at a particular time. Be clock-like in your daily activities. You will be free from worry, fear, anxiety, haphazard and shabby work. You will do the right thing at the right moment.
3. ABSENCE OF VANITY Do not boast of your birth, position, qualifications and spiritual attainments. Praise others. See good in all. Treat even the lowliest creatures as your equal and with respect.
4. SINCERITY Let your words agree with the thoughts; let your actions agree with your words. Let there be harmony among your thoughts, words and actions.
5. SIMPLICITYBe artless. Be simple in your speech. Do not twist words and topics. Be plain; avoid diplomacy, cunningness and crookedness. Be simple in your dress. Be simple in your food.

8. FIXITYRemember that you cannot achieve anything if you are fickle-minded. Choose your goal or ideal and remember it always. Never let it go out of mind even for a moment.
9. NON-IRRITABILITYIrritability is the precursor of violent outbursts of anger. Watch carefully for the disturbance in the mental equilibrium. Watch for the ripples of anger that might rise in the lake of the mind. Quell them then and there. Do not allow them to assume greater proportions. Then you will attain peace.
10. ADAPTABILITYUnderstand well the nature of people with whom you come into contact. Adjust your mode of approach to them. Adjust yourself in such a way as to be pleasing to them. Joyfully bear with the eccentricities of others. Always react in a harmonious manner. Serve all and love all. Have the feeling that the Lord dwells in the hearts of all as the Self of all.
11. HUMILITYRespect everybody. Bow with folded hands before all. Do not talk in a loud voice before elders and venerable persons. Look at the toes while you walk. See the Lord in all and feel that you are His servant and so the servant of all. Consider none as inferior to you.
12. TENACITYThis is the natural friend of fixity. Once you have fixed your aim and chosen your path, stick to it. Do not waver. Be steadfast. Never compromise on your fundamental principles. Have the attitude: "I may give up my life but I will not swerve from the path; I will not break my vows."
13. INTEGRITYDevelop an integral personality. Tie all the loose ends of your character. Become a man of high moral principles. Lead a life of righteousness. Let righteousness waft its sweet fragrance from you. Everyone will trust you, obey you, respect you and revere you.

16. CHARITYGive, give and give. This is the secret of abundance. Radiate thoughts of goodness and love. Forgive the faults of others. Bless the man who injures you. Share what you have with others. Disseminate spiritual knowledge to one and all. Use the material wealth, knowledge and spiritual wisdom that you possess as a divine trust.
17. GENEROSITYIn whatever you give be liberal. Have a large heart. Do not be miserly. Take delight in the joy of others, in making them happy. Generosity is a sister-virtue of charity. It is the fulfilment of charity, magnanimity and nobility.
18. PURITYBe pure at heart. Eradicate lust, anger and greed. Be pure in your thoughts. Think of God always. Think of the well-being of all. Be pure in your words; never utter harsh, unkind words. Be pure in body. Keep it clean and healthy. Let the dress and surroundings be clean. Observe the rules of physical, moral and spiritual hygiene. These eighteen "Ities" will pave the way for you to march into the kingdom of God. They will open for you the gates of immortality. You will achieve great success in this life itself. Inspiration-why men complain? intresting work by vishal

Why does man complain?
By Vishal Sharma

The Vedic texts speak of a mother sparrow, who laid her eggs in a nestnear the sea-shore. The sea, extending his powerful arms, transcendedthe boundaries of his shore and took her eggs away. The sparrow askedthe sea to return her eggs. But there was no response. She then warnedthe sea that if the eggs were not returned, she would drink up theentire sea! But there was still no response. The sparrow afterall wasinsignificant in front of the sea. Undaunted, she commenced drinkingthe sea, one drop at a time. Her steadfastness attracted the attentionof Garuda, the transport of Vishnu. On being informed as to the reasonbehind her strange act, Garuda did not ridicule her. Instead, he nowwarned the sea, that if the sparrow`s eggs were not returned, he, Garuda, would drink up the sea. Garuda being powerful, his warninghad immediate effect. The sea returned the sparrow`s eggs to her. Noone evaluates this event and infers that it was foolish of the sparrowto make a nest near the sea-shore. But we identity the sparrow withher determination to undo the wrong done to her by her efforts, ratherthan sit, cry and complain over the loss of her eggs.

Why does man complain? A complaint is a consequence of feelingaggrieved. The desire, to have the grievance addressed, manifests intoa complaint. The pre-requisite in the process is a superior authority, possessing the ability to address the grievance. However, such abilitymust be accompanied by a desire to exercise it fairly, and in anacceptable time period. The judicial system is one such redressalfacility. The process of complaining, hence, involves three parties, one the aggrieved, the other being the perceived perpetrator of thegrievance, and the third the redressal authority.
One can feel aggrieved by practically any occurrence. However, complaining does not always help. The ancient seers of India havecategorized human grievance into three groups, and called them,`Aadi-bhautik`, `Aadi-daivik`, and `Adhyaatmik`. The `Aadi-bhautik`grievance is caused by perceivable beings like fellow men, animals, and so on. The `Aadi-daivik` grievance results due to naturaldisasters, and unseen powers. And the `Adhyaatmik` grievance resultsfrom one`s own mind. The first grievance can be complained against andhas a relatively easy redressal system. The second grievance isresolved fatalistically using the `Hand of God` phrase, while the lastgrievance makes man a prisoner of his own confusion.

In life, when things go wrong, and they often do, when obstacles come, and they often do, when the mood becomes gloomy, and it often does, know, that what differentiates a successful person from a loser, ishow he handled his suffering. As repulsion is the true test ofmagnetism, similarly, managing one`s suffering is the true indicatorof success. For everyone suffers, everyone faces obstacles, andeveryone`s mood becomes gloomy sometime or the other. However, noteveryone sits and complains about the unfairness of life. It is thevictimized who protest, the weak who shout, and the children whocomplain. When a child falls down on the ground, he cries andcomplains to his mother. The mother, just to make the child happy, stamps the ground, as if she were beating it. But one day, the childmust grow up and know that the ground is not affected by any beating,it is the now grown-up child that must not fall!

So you have not got good marks in the twelfth grade exams, not made itinto the IIT or IIM, or even the IAS, or messed up your SAT and CAT.It is not the end of the road. It just means you didn`t study hardenough or in the correct manner. Take a break, have patience, evaluateyour weakness, persevere, and search for alternatives. Albert Einsteinis perhaps the greatest of the scientific minds of the last century. They don`t enumerate his contributions to Physics. They say herevolutionized it! But few know that the great professor AlbertEinstein had failed in his tenth standard mathematics` exams, did notspeak a word till he was four years old, and was consideredsub-intelligent by his teachers. But no one ever heard Einsteincomplaining about his scholastic performance.

I know of a person, whose eighteen year old son committed suicidebecause his girl-friend left him for someone else. Someone`s marriagemay have broken down for some flimsy and obscure reason. Don`t cringeand complain over such momentary and frivolous losses. Never judgeyourself for these reasons. If at all you want to be a judge of yourpersonality, then see yourself from the eyes of a poor beggar whomyou`ve just fed food, or from the eyes of the old woman, for whom yougave up your seat in a crowded bus or train, or from the eyes of agrateful puppy, whom you comforted in the rain. A wise adage states,`It takes one woman twenty years to make a man out of her child, whileanother woman takes twenty minutes to make a fool out of him.` Whyjudge yourself from the unqualified eyes of such a woman or man whohas scorned you? Instead, judge yourself through the proud eyes of aparent, who has taken care of you all these years, and then you willhave no reason for complaining.

There was this farmer`s son who tried his hand at business and failed.Contested elections and failed. Then went back to business but failedyet again. He suffered a nervous breakdown, came out of it, andcontested elections repeatedly for many years but failed again andagain. After nearly thirty years of trying, he won, and became a greatPresident of the United States of America. He was Abraham Lincoln!

Did Lincoln complain and give up? Surely, your defeats and losses werenot more than Lincoln`s? Surely your ridicule was not more then whatEinstein must have faced. Don`t complain and frown, but stand up anddare to dream again, dare to walk again after falling. It hurts, yes Iknow, but you are the child of man, you must not give up, but fightintelligently. If at all one has learnt anything from the harshness oflife`s lessons, it surely must be to fight on, despite reversals, foryou never know when the Garuda in your life would come and take yourside, empowering you with unprecedented strength and success!

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. Theanimal cried piteously for hours as the farmer triedto figure out what to do. Finally, he decided theanimal was old, and the well needed to be covered upanyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve thedonkey.
He invited all his neighbours to come over and helphim. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shoveldirt into the well. At first, the donkey realized whatwas happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone'samazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally lookeddown the well. He was astonished at what he saw. Witheach shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey wasdoing something amazing. He would shake it off andtake a step up.
As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt ontop of the animal, he would shake it off and take astep up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over theedge of the well and happily trotted off!

Keep an Open Mind
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are presented with new ideas every day of our lives. These are the same new ideas that advance our technology, ease suffering, establish peace, and generally make the world a better place in which to live. In order for a new idea to have such a positive effect on society and the human race, it must be accepted by others. Some ideas, like the use of personal computers, have been accepted rather quickly whereas other ideas, like world peace, may just always be "too idealistic" to be universally accepted. While we cannot force our ideas or beliefs on anyone, we can learn to live with an open mind and accept new ideas that will empower us and bring us closer to success.
Throughout this course I have hinted on the importance of having an "open mind", and now I would like to explain why. Someone with an open mind is a person who is willing to accept new ideas and beliefs. In most cases, people have open minds on some subjects and closed minds on others. Unfortunately, many people have closed their minds on subjects in which they have disempowering beliefs. For example, those who were brought up with the belief "...money is the root of all evil", have a difficult time accepting the positive influences money can have. Those with open minds avoid ignorance and open themselves up to opportunity by agreeing to consider new information.

An open mind is like a good sense of humor - everyone thinks they have one; however, that is not the case. Closed-minded individuals often just consider themselves "cautious", "decisive" or justify their non-acceptance of new ideas or beliefs in some other way. Here are a few of the most common reasons why not everyone is open-minded.

Skepticism. Those who have experience in life certainly have had some negative experiences. They have seen that people do or say things for their own benefit and manipulate others. Skepticism is a self-defense mechanism that protects us from being taken advantage of, but it also prevents us from accepting new ideas. Trust in your own judgment and agree to consider other ideas and beliefs.
Stubbornness. Some people just cannot admit they are wrong. Out of pure stubbornness, they will refuse to accept or even listen to any new ideas. If you have an issue with admitting that you are "wrong", you can, instead, admit to not having all of the information. This is a more graceful way of saying you are wrong. :)
In too deep. Along the same lines as stubbornness, some people have lived their entire lives with a belief. By changing this belief, they would feel as if they have been "wrong" all this time. In fear of wasted days, months, or even years supporting an incorrect belief, these people would rather close their minds to other beliefs and ideas. Remember that it is never too late to do the right thing. Your journey down the right path begins by first getting off the wrong path.
An open mind will allow you to make better decisions in your life, while at the same time helping you to become a more understanding and sympathetic person. Lack of knowledge, or ignorance, on a subject can be avoided by having an open-minded attitude. You can choose to reject information, beliefs, or ideas after you have considered them, but not before you are even presented with them. Keep an open mind and let success find its way inside.

Note: Having an open mind does not mean accepting anything and everything, it simply means considering what you will and will not accept.

KEY POINTS:

While we cannot force our ideas or beliefs on anyone, we can learn to live with an open mind and accept new ideas that will empower us and bring us closer to success
Those with open minds avoid ignorance and open themselves up to opportunity by agreeing to consider new information
Close-minded individuals often just consider themselves "cautious", "decisive" or justify their non-acceptance of new ideas or beliefs in some other way
An open mind will allow you to make better decisions in your life while at the same time help you to become a more understanding and sympathetic person

Inspiration-hapiness!!!!

GREDINESS ASCERTAINED:
There was a man who could be called the personification of greed. He opined that the girl he would marry need not have to be beautiful, good natured or intelligent, but has to possess money. The locals who knew his nature were not willing to let him marry any girl from among them.

The man travelled to other places in search of a girl of his choice, came across a rich man and got a proposal to marry one of the daughters of the rich man. The rich man offered half-a-million rupees if the greedy man married his 20 year old daughter, one million rupees for his 25 year old daughter and two million rupees for his 30 yeard old daughter.
As the dowry increased correspondingly with the age of the girls, the greedy man became excited and asked "have you an unmarried daughter who is 50 years old".

Money, wealth and prosperity are only tools.Money is not happiness. If the meaning of money is happiness, then all those who have plenty of money should really be happy, which is not so in real life. Happiness is buried deep inside in the meaning we give to money, position and life.

An ascetic was relaxing by stretching himself out. A passer by notice and asked:
While everyone is rushing around and working why are you lying
down doing nothing?
Ascetic asked "what is the use of working?"
Passer by "if you work you get money"
Ascetic" "and if I get money?"
Passer by: "you get all comforts of life".
Ascetic:"if I get all comforts of life?"
Passer by:"you can relax and remain idle"
Ascetic:"Well, right now I am doing the same thing".

Happiness and peace of mind is not in money and comforts. It is in the outlook and approach to the very life itself.

regds with warmth,
vasan.

A Fish Tale...
Japanese way of handling a problem....
The Japanese have always loved fresh fish. But the waters close to Japanhave not held many fish for decades. So to feed the Japanese population, fishing boats got bigger and went farther than ever. The farther thefishermen went, the longer it took to bring in the fish.
If the return trip took more than a few days, the fish were not fresh. TheJapanese did not like the taste. To solve this problem, fishing companiesinstalled freezers on their boats. They would catch the fish and freezethem at sea. Freezers allowed the boats to go farther and stay longer. However, the Japanese could taste the difference between fresh and frozenand they did not like frozen fish. The frozen fish brought a lower price. So fishing companies installed fish tanks. They would catch the fish andstuff them in the tanks, fin to fin.
After a little thrashing around, the fish stopped moving. They were tiredand dull, but alive. Unfortunately, the Japanese could still taste thedifference. Because the fish did not move for days, they lost their fresh-fish taste. The Japanese preferred the lively taste of fresh fish, notsluggish fish. So how did Japanese fishing companies solve this problem?
How do they get fresh-tasting fish to Japan?
If you were consulting the fish industry, what would you recommend? As soon as you reach your goals, such as finding a wonderful mate, starting asuccessful company, paying off your debts or whatever, you might lose yourpassion. You don't need to work so hard so you relax. You experience thesame problem as lottery winners who waste their money, wealthy heirs whonever grow up and bored homemakers who get addicted to prescription drugs.Like the Japanese fish problem, the best solution is simple.
It was observed by L. Ron Hubbard in the early 1950's. "Man thrives, oddlyenough, only in the presence of a challenging environment."- L. RonHubbard
The Benefits of a Challenge:
The more intelligent, persistent and competent you are, the more you enjoy a good problem.
If yourchallenges are the correct size, and if you are steadily conquering thosechallenges, you are happy. You think of your challenges and get energized. You are excited to try newsolutions. You have fun. You are alive!
How Japanese Fish Stay Fresh:
To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still putthe fish in the tanks. But now they add a small shark to each tank. Theshark eats a few fish, but most of the fish arrive in a very lively state. The fish are challenged.
Recommendations:
Instead of avoiding challenges, jump into them. Beat the heck out of them.Enjoy the game. If your challenges are too large or too numerous, do notgive up. Failing makes you tired. Instead, reorganize. Find moredetermination, more knowledge, more help.
If you have met your goals, set some bigger goals. Once you meet yourpersonal or family needs, move onto goals for your group, the society, even mankind. Don't create success and lie in it.You have resources, skills and abilities to make a difference. Put a sharkin your tank and see how far you can really go!

water melon choly!!

Lessons of the Square Watermelon

Japanese grocery stores had a problem. They are much smaller than their US counterparts and therefore don't have room to waste. Watermelons, big and round, wasted a lot of space. Most people would simply tell the grocery stores that watermelons grow round and there is nothing that can be done about it. That is how I would assume the vast majority of people would respond. But some Japanese farmers took a different approach. If the supermarkets wanted a square watermelon, they asked themselves, "How can we provide one?" It wasn't long before they invented the square watermelon.

The solution to the problem of round watermelons wasn't nearly as difficult to solve for those who didn't assume the problem was impossible to begin with and simply asked how it could be done. It turns out that all you need to do is place them into a square box when they are growing and the watermelon will take on the shape of the box.

This made the grocery stores happy and had the added benefit that it was much easier and cost effective to ship the watermelons. Consumers also loved them because they took less space in their refrigerators which are much smaller than those in the US meaning that the growers could charge a premium price for them.

Take away lessons from “Square watermelons”

Don't Assume: The major problem was that most people had always seen round watermelons so they automatically assumed that square watermelons were impossible before even thinking about the question. Things that you have been doing a certain way your entire life have taken on the aura of the round watermelon and you likely don't even take the time to consider if there is another way to do it.

Break away from the routine and find better ways to do things.
Question habits: If you can make an effort to question the way you do things on a consistent basis. Forming habits when they have been well thought out is usually a positive thing, but many people have adopted habits from various people and places without even thinking about them.

Best way to tackle assumptions is to question your habits!
Be creative: When faced with a problem, be creative in looking for a solution. This often requires thinking outside the box. Most people who viewed this question likely thought they were being asked how they could genetically alter water melons to grow square which would be a much more difficult process to accomplish. By looking at the question from an alternative perspective, however, the solution was quite simple.

Be creative and look at things in different ways!
Look for a better way: The square watermelon question was simply seeking a better and more convenient way to do something. The stores had flagged a problem they were having and asked if a solution was possible. It's impossible to find a better way if you are never asking the question in the first place. Ask if there is a better way of doing the things since these are usually hints about steps that need to change.

Question old habits and seek for better ways to do things!
Impossibilities often aren't : If you begin with the notion that something is impossible, then it obviously will be for you. If, on the other hand, you decide to see if something is possible or not, you will find out through trial and error.

Search for possibilities in impossibilities!

“Square watermelons” notes apply to work, and elsewhere..
